Rain, Rain, Go Away...
It's raining once again in Hawaii. I heard it when I woke up this morning. I felt a little groggy, because I had gone to sleep early. I could have forced myself to stay awake until midnight to talk to my boyfriend for a couple minutes while he did his morning routine, but I don't think I'd have lasted. I'd have gotten very very cranky.
My dad took his truck, so I had to take the car. I don't really like driving in the rain with the car, because the water tends to rise up because of the wheels and push against the body of the car. Which freaks me out into thinking that something horrible is happening.
I have to work late-ish tonight (until about 6:00 p.m.) and by the time I'm actually physically able to leave the library, it'll be dark outside. Not getting dark, but DARK. So I brought my little flashlight. But it's a really really bright one. I bought it at Wal-Mart just because it had a "lantern" mode. When I put the batteries in and turned it on, I was shocked by how bright it was. Almost blinded myself too...
I still haven't gotten around to arranging those fake poinsettias and holly. I want to get some fake baby's breath to put in there, but they're expensive. Kind of, anyway. At Ben Franklin they're about $1.67 and there are only a few wisps on one branch.
Oh well. I'll get them soon.
But I think that won't be for a while, because I need to save up money for Christmas. I'm terrible with money.
I went to the pet store yesterday with my friend Taki-chan. They had gotten in more Fighting Fish the other week, and when we went to look at them, the water was dirty. There was one with fin rot so bad to the point where it no longer had ANY fins. A few others looked like they weren't very happy either.
Although when we got there yesterday, the water for each of the fishes individual cups had been changed. So it was nice and clean and you could see them in a much better light. In a seperate display case in a corner of the room, they had the expensive fish. $15. Yup. $15 for a little fish.
They still had the pretty red one, and the AWESOME black one. But now they had two of the white fish. One wasn't as white as the other, it was more of a slightly off-white color, but the really white fish was so pretty!!! For some reason it reminded me of a big, billowy wedding dress. The kind with a long train. It's fins were really nice.
There was also a really pretty yellow-ish fish. It wasn't blindingly yellow, but more towards an orange color. It was really nice. There was also one with fins that were almost see-through...which was pretty kool.
There were some fish with white bodies, and spikey white, pink and blue fins. They reminded me of the first bike I ever had. They also make me think of the 80s and early 90s for some reason.
Rawr...15 minutes until I have to report to work... I shall end today's mundane ramblings here...
Ja mata!
